This position is responsible for coordinating patient referrals by obtaining all information, insurance verification, and authorization required for accurate and timely coordination of patient care.

Essential job duties:

• Initiates, tracks, and updates status of all referrals for patients in a timely and organized manner
• Receives and obtains insurance authorization from in-network and out-of-network insurance carriers for specialist visits
• Receives internal referrals from NHC provider to another NHC provider; coordinates referral by verifying coverage, scheduling patient, and tracking completion of first visit
• Communicates with all members of the clinical team and specialists regarding the referral process to ensure proper coordination of care

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education is preferred
• One year of experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting is required
• Previous EPIC experience is preferred
