Technical Manager

The Technical Manager (TM) plays a leading role in developing and executing project plans aligned with the company’s strategic vision and technology initiatives. They utilize project management, portfolio management, and technical expertise to optimize project success and return on investment. The TM takes a programmatic and strategic approach to ensure individual projects align with the overall technology infrastructure. They work with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, in solution design, development, and project management.

Essential job duties:

  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to define and optimize program activities, leveraging available resources to achieve multiple goals.
  • Conduct stakeholder analyses to gain buy-in, identify requirements, and develop realistic scopes of work for projects or deliverables that meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Establish, monitor, and control a program consisting of multiple integrated technology projects, encompassing business processes and operational activities.
  • Convene and facilitate complex multi-stakeholder groups to ensure alignment with strategic priorities across systems and build collaboration.
  • Provide oversight and leadership of specific IT operational functions including monitoring key operational metrics, serve as a point of escalation.
  • Provide oversight for NHC’s help desk support.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in information technology, including 1 year in a leadership role managing IT organizations and/or projects is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role is required.
  • Project Management certification preferred.
