Locums Provider
This position is responsible for providing professional, comprehensive primary medical care and treatment services with emphasis on prevention of disease and promotion of health.
Essential Job Duties
- Provides patients with medical assessments and treatments pertaining to physical and mental health.
- Orders and interprets medical labs and diagnostic imaging for patients.
- Refers patients to appropriate specialists as needed.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals and treatments for assessed medical conditions.
- Performs minor procedures as qualified.
- Provides accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records following Neighborhood Health Center coding standards.
- Displays sensitivity to the populations served.
- Contributes professional medical expertise to other medical and mental health professionals and clinical support staff.
- Provides oversight of support staff with respect to individual patient management.
- Participates in team huddles to review the schedule at the start of the clinic day.
- Participates in process and quality improvement workflows.
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Attends required meetings and in-services, and participates in committees as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a nationally-accredited Physician Assistant training program or FNP: Master’s of Science in Nursing from an accredited graduate-level nursing program is required.
- Successful completion of national certification exam is required.
- Experience working with underserved populations in a community health center preferred.
- Nationally recognized and active certification is required.
- Unrestricted Oregon license with prescriptive authority is required.
- BLS and/or ACLS certification is required.
