Locums Provider

This position is responsible for providing professional, comprehensive primary medical care and treatment services with emphasis on prevention of disease and promotion of health.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provides patients with medical assessments and treatments pertaining to physical and mental health.
  • Orders and interprets medical labs and diagnostic imaging for patients.
  • Refers patients to appropriate specialists as needed.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals and treatments for assessed medical conditions.
  • Performs minor procedures as qualified.
  • Provides accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records following Neighborhood Health Center coding standards.
  • Displays sensitivity to the populations served.
  • Contributes professional medical expertise to other medical and mental health professionals and clinical support staff.
  • Provides oversight of support staff with respect to individual patient management.
  • Participates in team huddles to review the schedule at the start of the clinic day.
  • Participates in process and quality improvement workflows.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Attends required meetings and in-services, and participates in committees as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a nationally-accredited Physician Assistant training program or FNP: Master’s of Science in Nursing from an accredited graduate-level nursing program is required.
  • Successful completion of national certification exam is required.
  • Experience working with underserved populations in a community health center preferred.
  • Nationally recognized and active certification is required.
  • Unrestricted Oregon license with prescriptive authority is required.
  • BLS and/or ACLS certification is required.
