The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) helps people all over Oregon stay healthy, and it covers more than just doctor visits. From rides to your appointments to help with glasses, OHP supports your whole health, not just when you're sick.
Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) is here to help you understand your OHP benefits and how to use them.
If you’re already on OHP, you might know it pays for doctor visits, hospital care, mental health support, and medicine. But it also includes other services that help you feel your best—body, mind, and day-to-day. Our friendly OHP Enrollment team helps patients enroll and answers questions. They also help patients learn about all the benefits they may not be aware of.

Here are some OHP benefits that many people don’t know about:
- Rides to Appointments: Don’t have a way to get to your appointment? You may be able to get a free ride with OHP. Call your coordinated care organization (CCO) ahead of time to set this up.
- Mental Health and Recovery Support: OHP covers therapy, peer support, and help with substance use and recovery. You don’t need a referral — just reach out.
- Dental Care: OHP covers dental checkups, cleanings, fillings, and more. Many people don’t realize they can go to the dentist without paying out of pocket.
- Vision Care: Eye exams and glasses are covered for kids. Some adults can also get vision care if their health plan offers it.
- Language Services: If English isn't your preferred language, you can get a free interpreter for your appointments.
- Support During and After Pregnancy: OHP covers care during pregnancy and after birth. It also covers classes, breastfeeding support, and support programs for new parents.
- Flex Services: Some members may qualify for help with things like grocery delivery, rent, or even an air conditioner. These are called “flex services” and are designed to help you maintain your health outside of the clinic. You can learn more about these on OHP’s website.
- Alternative Care: Some OHP plans may cover services like acupuncture or chiropractic care if they are medically needed.
