Community Dental’s School-based Impact in Fall 2025

Last fall, NHC’s Community Dental team delivered preventive dental care directly to local elementary and middle schools, removing barriers like cost, transportation, and time so students can stay healthy and ready to learn.

Across eight schools — Ardenwald, Whitcomb, Mt. Scott, Lewelling, Milwaukie El Puente, Oak Grove, Linwood, and Rowe — NHC reached:

  • 1,009 students with dental screenings
  • 908 students with fluoride treatments
  • 319 students with sealants
  • 56 students connected to urgent dental care

In total, $158,180 in pediatric dental services were provided at no cost to students or schools, made possible by grants.

School-based dental care prevents emergencies, reduces missed class time, and connects families to ongoing treatment when needed.

We are deeply grateful to our grantors, our Community Dental team, and school partners who make this work possible. We look forward to sharing more as we expand our reach throughout the 2025–26 school year.
