Changes Are Coming to OHP
If you have OHP (Oregon Health Plan), changes are coming. The federal government is requiring these changes, and they will start in late 2026.
The good news: most people will keep their coverage. But there are steps you need to take to make sure you do not lose yours.
The Most Important Things to Do Right Now
- Update your contact information. OHP will send important letters by mail starting in fall 2026. If your address, phone, or email is out of date, you could miss these letters and potentially lose your coverage, even if you still qualify.
- Watch your mail. If you get a letter from OHP, read it carefully and respond quickly.
You can update your information at one.oregon.gov or by calling OHP at 1-800-699-9075.
What's Changing
There are several changes coming between 2026 and 2028. Not all changes affect every member. In general:
- Most OHP members will need to renew their coverage more often starting in 2027
- Some adults may need to show they are working, in school, or doing other activities to keep their coverage
- Small copays for some services may start in 2028 for some members
- Some members with certain immigration statuses will be moved to a program called Healthier Oregon, which has the same benefits as OHP
