Neighborhood Health Center Opens New Expanded Clinic in Rural Oregon to Increase Community Access to Quality Care
PORTLAND, Ore., September 9, 2024 – Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) announced today the opening of a new collocated medical and dental clinic in downtown Canby, an expansion of the current NHC Canby Medical Clinic which provides services for uninsured, underinsured, and publicly insured patients.
The new NHC Canby Medical and Dental Clinic, located at 227 NW 3rd Avenue, will offer medical, dental, pharmacy, reproductive, and behavioral health services in the newly renovated Andrus Building. This clinic will also house a relocated NHC Canby Pharmacy, allowing for greater growth of NHC’s low-cost 340B Pharmacy program.
“The expansion and relocation of our Canby clinic and in-house pharmacy responds to the growing need for high-quality, low-cost services in our communities, especially in rural areas such as Canby where health services are even less accessible,” explained Jeri Weeks, NHC’s Chief Executive Officer.
“We invite the community to join us for an open house on November 7 where we will officially welcome the public to our new NHC Canby Medical and Dental Clinic and dedicate our new clinic building to the Andrus family. All are welcome to join this special event and celebrate this milestone for our community,” Weeks said.
NHC Canby Medical and Dental Clinic is one of nine NHC clinics in the Portland metro area and the health center’s second fully collocated clinic. The NHC Canby Pharmacy, previously called NHC Hunziker Pharmacy, dispenses low-cost prescription medications for NHC patients through the Federal 340B Drug Pricing Program.
The new NHC Canby Medical and Dental Clinic will open to patients and community members on Monday, September 16. The NHC Canby Pharmacy will open to patients on Tuesday, October 1.
