New Pharmacy Director to Lead Expansion of Community-Based Care at NHC

PORTLAND, OR., May 13, 2025 – Dr. Michele Taney, PharmD has recently been appointed as the new Director of Pharmacy at Neighborhood Health Center (NHC), a role in which she’ll lead the expansion of a growing pharmacy department to bring care to rural and underserved communities in the Portland Metro area.

NHC is a non-profit Community Health Center that provides medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services to Medicaid, Medicare, and uninsured patients in the Portland Metro area.

Dr. Taney joined NHC in 2024 and spearheaded the opening of the organization’s first in-clinic dispensing pharmacy in Canby while serving as the Dispensing Pharmacy Manager.  In her new director role, she will continue to lead the expansion of NHC’s pharmacy services to better meet our patient’s care needs.

“Michele’s extensive experience in dispensing pharmacy coupled with her collaborative leadership style across multiple departments made her the perfect choice to lead the expansion of our pharmacy services at NHC now and in the future,” says Dr. Ann Tseng, NHC’s Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Taney brings over 20 years of experience in pharmacy care and management, in community health center and retail settings.  She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut.
